CAT lift trucks are produced by Caterpillar, a company well-known for innovative materials handling solutions and exceptional customer service. Caterpillar is an American company headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, with more than 100 years of experience in equipment manufacturing. A global leader in the industry, Caterpillar’s roots are in moving equipment, and they’ve been proudly providing exceptional service and value ever since.
You'll find an extensive dealer network for CAT lift trucks, thanks to their high performance and reliability, making it easy to find products and support for your forklift needs. At G&W, we will support your CAT forklift throughout its lifecycle, so you can maintain productivity and uptime no matter what.
Sometimes you’ll need to know the year and model number of your CAT lift truck, such as for service and support. To identify your CAT forklift’s year and model, look for the serial number. You may find it on the vehicle’s nameplate or data tag, along with other key information such as model number and tire size. It may also display tire pressure recommendations, tilt, and other information. You may find the data tag near the front of the forklift, on the dashboard.
You can use the model number and serial number to determine the year the forklift was manufactured. If the nameplate is missing, you may be able to find the serial number stamped on the frame of the forklift. Look on the chassis frame above the wheel, on the right side of the forklift.
With proper maintenance and employee training, CAT lift trucks can last a very long time. But to get long life and thousands of workhours from your forklift, it will depend on the maintenance and care you provide. Be sure to regularly change the oil, charge the battery, and inspect fluid levels and lubrication to keep the components in peak working order. A regular service schedule can help with routine maintenance tasks and repairs — we offer a planned maintenance program at G&W to help you stay on top of this.
It’s also important to train drivers in the proper use of the machine in order to extend its lifetime. Be sure that they are operating the forklift within the standards set in the user manual and storing and caring for it properly.
The best way to ensure high productivity is a reliable machine. Like any vehicle with moving parts, CAT forklifts need a certain level of maintenance to stay in prime condition. We recommend keeping to a routine maintenance schedule in order to preserve the life of the forklift and prevent unwanted damage. The optimum schedule will depend on the make and model of forklift, any attachments, and the use and capacity of the vehicle. We can help you select a maintenance agreement to keep your forklift and other equipment running at peak capacity.
